Established in 2007, Herdy is a British brand based in the beautiful Lake District. The Herdy Company originally set out with the mission to make people smile, and over 17 years later, they’re still doing exactly that!

The Herdy Company was founded by Spencer and Diane Hannah, a married couple who believed that there was opportunity to create high-quality giftware in the Lake District, something they felt was not available at the time. They first discovered that they could produce their gorgeous giftware after visiting Finland and seeing the amazing quality of the gifts and souvenirs available for tourists.
Herdy became a brand themed entirely around the Herdwick sheep, a breed that can be seen all over the Lake District! Founder Spencer took a super cute photo of one of these sheep, and the idea to use them as the face of the brand was born!
When The Herdy Company first launched, the signature sheep design only featured on a handful of products such as pin badges and mugs. Fast forward to 2024, they now produce a brilliant range of more than 400 products - from stylish stationery and kitchenware, to baby clothes and fun accessories.
Alongside producing gorgeous giftware, Herdy have also made great efforts over the years to do their bit for their local community. The Herdy Fund was started to give financial support to farmers and rural communities, and has become an official charitable fund of the Cumbria Community Foundation! Herdy works closely with and pays farmers directly for their Herdwick wool, making a positive difference to the rural economy who have struggled with the rising cost of farming and lack of demand in recent years.
